Why Should I Join the Georgia Online Justice Community?
You should Join the Georgia Online Justice Community
1. Because we need you!
Take the Poverty Tour.
Currently, because of budget and staffing limitations, the legal services organizations in Georgia that provide free civil legal help to low-income clients can provide services for only twenty percent (20%) of the people who are eligible - that's one (1) out of every five (5) people who need assistance.
The other four must seek help from pro bono and "low-bono" programs, go into debt to pay a private attorney, or do without legal help.
NOTE: In general, to be eligible for free legal help in Georgia, the maximum income for an individual is about $11,000 per year and for a family of four it is about $23,000 per year.
