The GLSP/ALAS Health Law Taskforce Presents: De-Mystifying the Medical Record and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act
Please join us for the next Health Law Taskforce Meeting which will be held on Monday April 19 at 2 pm at the State Bar building. We will have two distinguished guest speakers who will share their expertise with us.
Our first speaker, Dr.Bob Pettignano, is the Medical Champion for HeLP, Medical Director at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Emory. He will present on the topic: "De-Mystifying the Medical Record." For anyone who needs to read (and understand) medical records in connection with a legal claim will find this session interesting and illuminating. (1 CLE hour)
To continue with the de-mystifying theme, our next guest speaker, Cindy Zeldin will provide us with highlights of the landmark health reform legislation that was recently signed into law. Cindy is the Executive Director of Georgians for a Healthy Future, a healthcare policy and consumer advocacy organization. Her presentation will include a summary of key provisions and the potential impact on our client population. She will discuss expansion of public programs, changes to private insurance, and the creation of health insurance exchanges.
Please RSVP so that I can reserve a room and purchase snacks accordingly. Also feel free to email questions for the speakers in advance.
