Today CMS announced that, effectively immediately, the agency has instituted a continuous Special Enrollment Period (SEP) to all Part D eligible beneficiaries eligible for the Low Income Subsidy. This means all LIS eligibles, not just duals, can change plans at any time with an effective date of the first of the next month.

The change is part of a broader revision to the Enrollment and Eligibility Guidance for PDPs and MA-PDs. We can provide fuller updates later but want everyone to know of this important change immediately. The new guidance is found at http://www.cms.hhs.gov/MedicareMangCareEligEnrol/Downloads/MAEnrollmentGuidanceUpdate.pdf (for MA-PDs) and http://www.cms.hhs.gov/MedicarePresDrugEligEnrol/Downloads/PDPEnrollmentGuidanceUpdate.pdf (for PDPs).
