Skipper StipeMaas, GLSP Specialist Attorney, will receive a "Champion of Grassroots Organizing" award from the Athens-based Ecnomic Justice Coalition on October 27, 2007, at the group's Annual Meeting. StipeMaas will be recognized for her work with the People of Hope, Inc., a grassroots community-based organization that emerged from the displacement of scores of families from the Garden Springs Mobile Home Park. StipeMaas has represented PoH in a long process that is leading to the development of the first resident-managed manufactured housing community in the State of Georgia, located in Athens.
