The ABA Standing Committee on the Delivery of Legal Services is seeking nominations for the 2009 Louis M. Brown Award for Legal Access. The Award recognizes programs and projects that have made innovative and/or substantial contributions toward meeting the legal needs of people with moderate incomes. Details about the Award and the nomination process are online at http://www.abanet.org/legalservices/delivery/brownnomination.html. The Committee has created a point system that is designed to encourage nominations from a broader range of projects. The deadline for entries is December 15, 2008. The Award recipient and those receiving meritorious recognition will be honored at the ABA Midyear Meeting in Boston on February 13, 2009. Recipient projects are included on the Committee's web site, at http://www.abanet.org/legalservices/delivery/brown.html. In addition, all suitable entries are listed in the Committee's annual publication, Profiles of Moderate Income Delivery Programs, which is disseminated to bar leaders throughout the country. Please direct any questions to Tracy Loynachan at loynacht@staff.abanet.org or 312/988-6185.
