SAVANNAH – The new Coastal Georgia Office of the State Bar of Georgia officially opened this week in downtown Savannah, providing a full-service conference facility for the use of Bar members throughout Southeast Georgia.

Located at 18 E. Bay St., the Coastal Georgia Office is housed in a renovated building in Savannah’s historic riverfront district. Two conference rooms and two hearing rooms accommodating between six and 30 people are available. The office is staffed full-time and also offers videoconferencing capability for establishing live links with meetings taking place at the State Bar’s headquarters in Atlanta and the South Georgia Office in Tifton.

“We are extremely proud of our new Coastal Georgia Office and excited about its potential to bring State Bar services closer to our members in that region of the state,” State Bar President Jeffrey O. Bramlett said. “We hope that all Georgia lawyers, no matter where they are from, will make the Coastal Georgia satellite their office away from home when their travels take them to or near the Savannah area.”

Designed to serve Bar members’ needs within a 125-mile radius, including the Augusta and Brunswick areas, the Coastal Georgia Office now places every lawyer in Georgia within a two-hour drive of a State Bar office, with the vast majority much closer than that.

For more information, contact Linda Gale Edwards, manager of the Coastal Georgia Office, at 912-239-9910 or toll-free at 877-239-9910.

Its more than 40,000 members work together to strengthen the constitutional promise of justice for all, promote principles of duty and public service among Georgia’s lawyers, and administer a strict code of legal ethics.
