- Organization: State Bar of Georgia Pro Bono Project
The State Bar of Georgia Military Legal Assistance Program (MLAP) matches lawyers with military service members and veterans who have legal problems. The lawyers provide free, reduced-fee or for-fee services on a range of legal matters.
The program, under development since 2008, was launched in December 2009. The State Bar of Georgia Pro Bono Project, an LSC-funded effort supported by the Georgia Legal Services Program, provides oversight and support for the Bar program.
Lawyers interested in providing legal assistance to our military and veterans may sign up online here.
If you would like to offer your expertise as a trainer on military or veterans legal issues, sign up here.
The program hosts dozens of web resources for volunteer and referral lawyers on the Georgia Online Justice Community, our statewide volunteer lawyer and advocate support website.
