On December 16, the Savannah Regional Office of Georgia Legal Services Program hosted an appreciation breakfast for its many volunteer lawyers.

At the coffee and pastries event, Pro Bono Coordinator Betty Upchurch and Managing Attorney Bill Broker presented awards and State Bar of Georgia certificates of appreciation to long-term and new volunteers. 

"We're are indebted to these Savannah lawyers for their generosity.  They give so much to help people maintain stability in their lives.  Lawyers have a special role in our community in making sure justice is a reality," noted Upchurch.  "I love these kind of events.  It helps us reconnect and also helps us show the public the good work that lawyers do."
