2006 Georgia Latino Organizations Summit

On Saturday, January 21, 2006, we will be gathering all Latino and Latino-serving organizations at the University of Georgia in Athens for an historic 2006 Georgia Latino Organizations Summit. We hope you will be able to join us!

The Planning Committee consists of The Georgia Association of Latin American Journalists (GALAJ), the Georgia Association of Latino Elected Officials (GALEO), the Georgia Hispanic Network (GHNet), Governor Perdue’s Latino Commission for a New Georgia, the Mexican American Business Chamber (MABC) and the Office of the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach, University of Georgia.

The Planning Committee would like to engage all Latino and Latino-serving nonprofit organizations in the process. Supporting Organizations will be listed soon.

The purpose of the event is:

· Increase awareness among participants of other Latino and Latino-serving organizations

· Discuss and identify the focus and emphasis of each organization

· Develop a framework for collaborative future efforts

· Begin discussions on how to work together for greater impact within the Latino community in Georgia

All Latino and Latino-serving nonprofit organizations in the state of Georgia are encouraged to participate in this historic summit. Organizations are limited to a maximum of three delegates. Delegates are required to be paid staff persons and/or board members of the nonprofit organizations. Registration fee per person is $50.
