Given the current harsh economic conditions, many older Georgians are having a difficult time making ends meet. For the first time in more than 30 years, there is not expected to be a cost of living increase in Social Security and Supplemental Security Income benefits this coming January. Coupled with likely increases in Part D of Medicare ( Prescription drug coverage), which is deducted from monthly benefits, many low income older Georgians will have less to meet their needs, especially nutritional needs.

This seminar and webcast will address: current research looking at the extent of hunger/food insecurity among older Georgians; major federal programs that could provide needed nutritional benefits; best practices in other states/local areas.

NOTE: If you attend in-person, you MUST register, please. Webcast viewers do NOT need to register.
