Nonprofits have a variety of workers who help the organization. How to classify those workers is not as simple as one would think. The federal and state governments have specific factors they consider in determining the classification of workers. During this one hour webcast, our speaker will:

  • Identify the various categories of workers (independent contractor, exempt employee, non-exempt employee and volunteer) and the different classification factors set forth by federal and state government,
  • Discuss the risks with classifying workers improperly (Department of Labor audits, IRS fines, etc.), and
  • Provide strategies for nonprofits to use to properly determine worker classifications.

Speaker: Dan Hart, Associate, Paul Hastings
