NLADA Now Accepting Nominations for the 2012 Beacon of Justice Award

Monday, April 02, 2012

NLADA proudly seeks nominations by law firms who have devoted considerable resources and have made a significant impact on improving the administration of justice through innovative public-private partnerships. Eligible law firms have provided direct pro bono legal representation (to include paralegal pro bono hours) to parties - individuals or class actions - between January 1, 2011 and January 1, 2012. Law firm awardees will be selected based on the impact of the representation on the individual and, if relevant, to a problem that is affecting the community-at-large. Nominations will also be judged based upon the extent to which the public-private partnership 1) increased attorney resources for low income people; 2) enhanced the effectiveness of the representation; and 3) reduced the demand for attorneys by changing policies or procedures or addressed systemic inequities. Nominations submitted by organizations on behalf of law firms will also be accepted.
